Cynthia is best known to audience for her marvellous acting and contribution to Singapore Showbiz, Cynthia first came to the attention to the audience was made through the 10th Acting Classes organised by Singapore Broadcasting Centre (SBC), while the classes is still going on, Cynthia gotten a role in The Dating Game, as soon as she was graduate from the acting classes, she was immediately signed by SBC (back-then Mediacorp).

However, Cynthia passion to acting wasn't develop at that time, at the age of 19 in 1993, Cynthia receive the opportunity to participate in a Taiwan Co-Production, in the long duration of filming, Cynthia learnt to be independent and hence develop her love for acting within a short span of time.

In the early days of Cynthia career, Cynthia were often seen playing typing young girls or role that are totally younger than her age in reality.

In 1996, Cynthia was being notice by Guo Linsong, back then, Mediacorp Top Producer (currently Mediacorp Drama Head), Guo Linsong then casted Cynthia in the blockbuster series, Tofu Street. Immediately after the drama was telecast on TV, Cynthia successfully gained fame and attention to the audience, the role later earned Cynthia a Best-Actress nomination in Star Awards 1996, which see the fact that Cynthia being the least experience in the nomination list.

The year of 1997 came to be a quiet year of Cynthia, as she was send to China and Shanghai for the filming of period drama, Sword and Honour. However her popularity still exist and globally increase with the fact that she won her 1st Top 10 Most Popular Artiste in Star Awards 1997. However, good things doesn't last. That remain Cynthia one and only winning in Star Awards popularity award.

However Cynthia still gotten roles in drama that allow her to showcase her acting, in 1999, Cynthia take on the blockbuster, Stepping Out. In the drama, Cynthia was required to shave off her hair, so as to make the roles look convincing. This role later gotten Cynthia the Best Actress in Star Awards 1999 and Asian Television Awards Best Actress Nomination. The role was reported to be for Zoe Tay and Wong Lilin originally.

In the early days of Cynthia career, Cynthia contributed her voice by singing various dramas theme and sub-theme, namely for her drama like Around People Park, Hainan Kopi Tales. And others various dramas she wasn't involve in, e.g. An Ode To Life & etc.

Beside dramas, Cynthia got the opportunity to host variety shows such as Makan Kakis Go Malaysia, Insider's Australia and guest appear in all genre of variety shows.

To date, Cynthia have up to 40+ production and known as a veteran with good acting skills, the main factor to Cynthia 17 years of career in Mediacorp is her passion and love towards acting that keeps her going.

Although her achievement wasn't as much as the like of Ah Jie and Princesses, she is still hope by audience to receive a nomination for her acting, as she was known to be the most under-rated actress in the recent years.
